occasion. Willis impression was that the
major that action was
only reason the region was not being taken was
because oil exploration rights had already
been granted for that area. Well & Able both
thought that a gate with only a Forest
Service lock above Pete Logan's place
would be a good idea. This bunch was
apparently not on too good terms with Dr.
Bleitz - maybe he has "gone Hollywood".
These men "candled" the cordow egg with
a flashlight several times & said there was
a large air space (1/4 +/-) on the last visit be-
fore the chick hatched. A cordova article
full of misinformation appeared in the S.F. Chron-
icle in Tod Pawell's column last (?) year,
they said - Dr. Will has the article.

Visited Dr Harold M. Will at St Luke's
hospital in San Francisco (he is an intern
there). He showed me articles from Tod Pawell's
column (The Woodswoman) in the S.F. Chronicle for
March 30, April 11, & April 17, 1945, referring
to cordova reports near Porterville and in S.
Monterey Co. and at Rinconadas Nat'l Mon. I
got these articles from the SF Chronicle for
my clipping file. Will said he had visit-
