30 Nov Route 5 Milepost 30.1
Trap success: 50 traps, 40 Sherman 10 snap:
Dipodomys merriami 4 all in Sherman 2 kept (480-481)
Six of the 10 snap traps had been cleaned presumably by kit fox; 1 snap trap was missing. 3 shermans
were closed but empty, one had a fecal
dropping (collected) One Dipo was dead in
the trap, the trap had been moved, and
a dropping was placed on it.
Reset all traps, replaced missing trap.
1 Dec same location. Second night trap success:
Dipodomys merriami 5 (all released)
Ammospermophilus leucurus 4 (1snap) #482,483
Total this site: 100 trap nights (80 Sherman 20 snap)
Dipodomys merriami 9
Ammospermophilus leucurus 4 (1snap)
13/100
It is possible that 2 of the Dipo's caught on
the second night were also caught the first
night, which would lower the count to 7.
