Kingsley 1980 60 10 Nov Plummer Canyon Rd- with Mark Hodgkins. Set 11 traps in 3 lines 8 mi E Grapevine Pk 5000 ft Sagebrush. 2 lines of 40 shrews 20 m between stations 2 traps per station, plus 10 mouse speels set at every other station. Plus 1 line of 11 mouse specials in pairs. Vegetation: sagebrush, weedover, etc. Terrain flat gravelly. Weather: quite cool and windy clooding up. Then went to Plummer Mine, saw 3 holes as. 1 mi E of Stineologic station. In Plummer Mine we found 15 Pleotus townsendi and 3 Myotis californicus I collected 2 Myotis, Mark took 3 of the pleotus and recorded them using a bat detector. Camped at Stineologic station. Overcast, windy. 11 Nov 8 mi E Grapevine Peak 5000 ft Sagebrush last night's traps caught: Dipodmys microps 8 42.1 D. merriami 5 26.3 Parquatius formosus 2 10.5 Onychomys torridus 1 5.3 Paramyxus maniculatus 1 5.3 Reithrodontomyss neogotis 1 5.3 Ammospermophilus leucurus 1 5.3 19/111 = 17.1% 100. Only one animal, a D. merriami was caught in snap traps, all others in shrews. Picked up traps by 1000 hr. Set one unsuccessful gopher trap as there was a small amount of gopher sign.
