Ingleby 1980 Journal 36 22 August 22 August Willow Spring, Upper Leadfield Spring, Epictis Spring, Klare Spring. Grapevine Mtus Death Valley N.M. Camped at 5200 FT. Turnout on Titus Canyon Rd last night. Hiked to Willow Spring #198 beginning at 0800 SE from wide bend in road, across a ridge, down a wash with one very green mesquite. A Golden Eagle, immature, flew over head, Gambel's Quail calling. Bighorn Sheep tracks, very fresh in wash. Coyote trail, fresh tracks, parallel wash. Ammospermophilus seen, twelve Thompsons eigu. Dippings of Badger (?). Flushed 50+ Gambels Quail in wash. Arrived at Spring 0900. Saw 2 Hooded Oriole, many Chukar, 20+ House Finches. Old sow pies. At the spring: there is one large willow or intertwined cleanup of small ones, 20-30 feet in diameter, surrounded by
