5 2 April 1980 p2 "Cabin line" 14 Peromyscus released, 1 (295) kept because it was near death. 1 Neotoma, released; 3 Reithrodontomy released. 19/40 Margaret and I did a vegetation transect (Belted #2) through Triplex-Ambrosia-Larrea area outside the Scotty's Ranch fence, than I put in a trap line of 40 Shermanes baited with peanut butter flavored oats, more-or-less along her transect line. Got back at 7 PM. { I misguessed with my specimen numbering, todays #283 should be #286 and so on, add "3" to each number above to get correct specimen number} 3 April 1980 Scotty's Ranch Area, Desert, Triplex-Ambrosia-Larrea Bottling hordes of rapacious NO-SEE-Ums, I picked up 40 traps at 7:40 - 8:20 A.M. Catch: 9 Dipodomys (299,300 + 7 released) and 3 Perognathus (301,302+1 released) No Peromyscus- why not ?? 12/40 After a brief nap, we drove to the junction of the Beatty road, keeping an eye out for specific sites to investigate. Working our way back, we stopped at 4 places and set traps
