Vegetation included cottonwood, willows, mesquite, Arundo, cattails, Bachares, Vites, Pluchea and Cirsium. Returned home after an ice cream at Scotty's Castle and an attempt at fixing electricity. Birds: Common snipe, Meadowlark, Turkey Vulture, Ravens, Red-tailed Hawk, Cooper's Hawk, Kestrel (?) R. S. Flicker, Say's Phoebe Put specimens in Coleman frig with dry ice: an experiment. Saw considerable coyote scat. 2 April 1980 Scotty's Ranch Death Valley N.M. Returned to Scotty's Ranch to pick up traps at 7:30 AM.
