Kingsley 25 June 79 p4. 8 Saw 3 wolves in same general area we had seen them previously. Saw Banded-tailed Pigeon in camp this morning. General impressions: Seems that trap success goes down as we go up. Need to test this further, with snap traps and different bait. May be Gophers were. Need to do baits. Someone has done some tree cutting here in the past. It seems that Junipers are rather scarce in this area, while Pinos are dense. I have a hunch that Junipers may be a provider - that P-J may be more productive than either P or J monocultures. May be worth testing.
