12 June Strozzi Ranch area, all Peromyscus maniculatus specimens from this area, a total of 12, are numbers 61 through 73. Set 40 traps along road, under apple trees, through willows and nettles, extend spring, on boards in water, up rocky E facing hillside among scattered pinnons. caught 4 peromyscus. Nothing on hillside. Picked up traps between 8 and 10 AM, set between 4 and 7 pm. Cell baited oats area very heavily impacted by cows, cow trails, cow pies (in water especially) grazing. No evidence of Vervos. Checked buildings for bats, found none. Evidence of Neotoma in buildings, but not obvious away from buildings (among rocks). Saw several bats flying at night, early, (Myotis?) Margaret saw a chipmunk upstream about 1 mi, high on hillside, among pinnons and junipers. Many jackrabbits and Eumysperophilus along rd in and out. None of either seen in Strozzi Ranch area, some (few) small rabbit pellets in orchard. Coyote scat. Skunk? scat along stream. Deer pellets on hills. Heard deer (?) at night, near spring.
