Neotoma lepida (33,36) Ammospermophilus
luciferus (35). No obvious partitioning
of congenera. D. microps + D ucerreri
caught in two traps 3 feet apart;
P. crinitus and P. maniculatus caught
in trap pairs.
20/100 = 20%
Several jack rabbits & Cottontails.
Cattle around, many cerepids;
also equine feces, 1 burro (?) track
in mud of well.
Seismologic station
30 May 1979 Phinney Canyon Rd. at junction
of crossroad to Strozzi Ranch Rd. 5200ft.
Set 150 traps in 4 lines baited oats and
molasses oats.
Line 1: across sagebrush,
flat, down into sand wash lined with
cliffs (Rose).
Line 2: across sagebrush
flat, down into a small wash (3ft)
and continuing up a small slope.
(Molasses Oats: 30 traps, caught only
one beast #48.) Line 3: 40 traps, oats,
up and over rocky hill, caught 4 beasts
# 49-52.) Line 4: 40 traps, up over rocky
hill, down into wash, up another
hill to top. caught 6 beasts, #53-60.
Total: 19/150 = 12% (#42-60)
