EL Karlstrom 1956 Bufo carorus June 29 Turgs Base - first, I cannot find the C60 tag although this toad is "hot" registering about 1000 c.p.s. with scintillometer. Incision healed but some discoloration left around area. Toad appears healthy. A third tree-clipped adult o> recovered (RF 184) but I must have goofed on recording this animal on my data sheets. No record of this tree-clipping. Also found at NE corner of study pond. I found no adult toads outside of the ridge toe (rear tree "X" my map) and at the study pond. Carorus of toads at pond or in it: 8 od. F in angulatus, 2 unattached. 8 " o> paired above plus about 15- unattached males. Odd those males rear tree "X". Total 10 F+2 , 2B o> or 36 adults. Numerous "yearling" juveniles at pond edge. Snow melt water in cross near study pond not used for breeding - probably too cold at 5-7o C. Study pond will eggs in it down to 15o C. at this time. I also found one Hyla o> in angulatus with a carorus F. No other tree-frog adults seen in or along pond, but males calling intermittently from sites in grass.
