April 27 Cottonwood and the Eucalyptus and Sycamores at base of a rolled stump. All bugs sluggish. Air temperature in low 50's. 5:00 P.M. Continued north on U.S. 395 to U.S. 495. West to Mojave for supper, than into Bakersfield where we stayed with Jerry and Geri Gorman.
April 28 Returned to Berkeley 1:45 P.M. After drive from Bakersfield. Cool weather continued. San Joaquin Valley appears as if recent rains had hit area.
