El Karlstuen 1956 Journal April 27 tree-frogs found among 3 captured. Dylan todylus recently hatched ~ 1 cm. length. Birds: Rock wren, Gambel quail (5-6, > black-tailed ground squirrel, ? Phrynosoma, (2-4) green-backed goldfinches. Kodachrome # 13 & 14 Bullion mts. from highway leading north to Amboy. Cercote-Atriplex association. Amboy crater lava outflow. 1 Diglossana 1 Uta scoparia 10 Collisonura 3 Uta stansburiana - are taken 1935 feet on crest of order cere. Population probably followed Atriplex + Cercote (?) through a draw on south side of mtn. Absence of large lizards. No chuckwallas spotted. Overcast most of period 10:15-1:15 with mild breeze. Clearing around 1:30 p.m. 1/5 of sky cloaked with potently cumulus - stratus clouds. Continued west on U.S. 66 to Barstow, then 66 and 91 toward Victorville. Mojave desert area windy ad cool, overcast most of afternoon. 3 mi. N, 2 mi. W Victorville, San Bernardino Co. 6 Xantusia vigilis 1 Eumeces rubricaudatus 1 Sceloporus occidentalis Fairly fresh sign of Sauromalus and Sceloporus vigilis on rocks east of highway, but overcast, stingy cool winds kept all surface activity down. I found the Xantusia under blocks of felled
