ELKordation 1955 Great gray owl A great gray owl observed in Y.N.P. Joseph S. Dixon Cardor 46 (5) : 244 . Observed 7400 ft. West branch Bridowail Creek Yosemite Natl. Park June 23, 1944. Bright sunny A.M. perched on top of < 6' high fir tree center of very wet meadow. 2 miles from locality where two owls MV2 25534 and 25535 collected by Grinnell June 18, 1915 Abbott, Clinton G. 1913. Another record of the great gray owl in California 45 (1) : 37 . adult from between Coarsegold and Firegold , about 3200 feet, Madera Co. May or June 1930. Shot by boys and mounted, later donated to San Diego S.N.H. 20 air line miles S of Y.N.P. Measurements given. Byrnt, Harold E. 1920.
