As before, freeze kept still. 10:07 a second convulsing of whole cloaca region with abdomen slightly depressed. Lateral expansion 1 cm. each side of cloaca region. Tail now almost pointing directly posterior. Hind legs symmetrically placed, tips of claws 3 cm. out from edge of copse. 10:12 head raised whole region depressed. Elevated on all fours, cloaca pulled back, swollen laterally. First movements were lateral rocking movements. Head raised or alternately retracted during shivering movements.
