As before, freeze kept still. 10:07 a second convulsing of whole cloaca region with abdomen slightly depressed. Lateral expansion 1 cm. each side of cloaca region. Tail now almost pointing directly posterior. Hind legs symmetrically placed, tips of claws 3 cm. out from edge of copse. 10:12 head raised whole region depressed. Elevated on all fours, cloaca pulled back, swollen laterally. First movements were lateral rocking movements. Head raised or alternately retracted during shivering movements. Egg came 10:15 A.M. while I was raised a full 2+ cm. above floor of aquarium. Tail straight back and slightly elevated. More Kodak news. She pushed tail to one side forcing egg slightly to the right and settled down with tail and hind end almost covering the egg. I was active 2 min. after egg laid and tried to walk away. I returned to museum pool aquarium minus her 5 eggs. A sixth laid prior to 11:35 A.M. when news reported it.
