ELKahstun 1955 Bifur Caurus Oct. 22 Tioga Pass - 11:10 A.M. Jim Anderson got a hot spot with Tricalor 40 yards N of tree (t). First reading about 170-180 c.p.m. but we get a maximum at a few spots ran soil surface of ~200 c.p.m. I get about 50 c.p.s. with scintillometer which probably picks up the dirt radioactivity from greater area. Microtues burrow led in under shallow bank 3" below meager grass sod surface.
