ELKoshim 1955 Bufo canorus July 27 where water depth generally < 2". Ecological separation to a degree of deeper out deeper middle waters. max. depth about 5", Tods are back HL to emergent stage. Reduced in numbers to about 1/4 (?) of original? tad population. Tods mostly mature - not feeding. note. Aug. 2 Tiger Pass study area. Chased themogzel clock 8:35 A.M. Water depth 3-4' out from station house still about 3/4 -1" above bottom, salt but pond level down to 4" within middle. Tad sample collected. Tad mature at 11-12° C. water. Adults just emerged on surface. a quick look but only two seen. one had body temp. 18.5° C. Air temp. 8:50 A.M. 19.5° C. Warm, quite still morning. About 75 yards NE of Boger Station I saw an adult in opening of a ground squirrel tunnel. It retreated, and I couldn't dig it out dry land. No snow left this last patch to melt at this locality for 2 weeks. Ground dry. She trods are still occupying upper drain area for nightly retreat. I read the Geyer counter. Saddle trip back into Vogelsang with Dena Coney with Charlie Gilmore and his wife Virginia. Left TwoLume Park Station 9:45 A.M. Arrived Vogelsang at 12:10 P.M. Hot day but cooler wind up at head of TwoLume Pass. From Fletcher Lake I hiked back up to height of story of Lake NW of Porous Peak. Elevation here 10,500 ft. A large scenic cirque at head of canyon with steep N and NE facing slopes. Told tadpoles found at
