June 28 Tierra Base area, mm Ca, Gulf. 10:45 A.M. Truol
recoy with geiger counter. One marked tool gotten
(RF2) in pocket geyser burrow 20' N of rock in oven
where first group of tools marked (T1-T6?). Picked
up first at 5 foot distance within 5 minutes of searching.
Cloud 17.6° C. At 10:55 A.M. Substitute in 3" deep
burrow 11.5° C. This tool probably had been active on
surface. Air temp. burrow recorded 19.8° C. Second tool
recovered 3 minute later 30' N x NE same rock. Ad. F (LF4
RH4?) RH4 may be naturally missing. A wonderful method!
Geiger tube used at .2 mR range for initial location
from distance 4-5 feet. Switched to 2.0 mR range for
detecting. Tool actually followed as it moved 3-4" below
and among a system of pocket geyser (mice?) tunnels.
Trapped her between two openings. Cloud temp 13.5° C.
Burrow temps same.
(RF2, LF2) on surface. Lucini almost looked shut. 20yds.
E of rock. Worked over 10:45-12 noon but only
upper '1/5th of total study area and concentrated 100±
yards NE Entrance Station where T1-7 marked.
Tracolor only instrument used.
July 8 Same locality. I began systematic coverage of area
about 100 yards NE Station at 8:40 A.M. I
spotted an unmarked D with head just protruding
from Thermoz burrow within 10 minutes of searching.
It was unmarked but a concealed D (RF2) 20" away
was detected strongly with Tracolor meter 8m away
with my

today's. Scale was .2 and meter flooded up to
