ELK aridation Bulfer carronae gune 25 Targa Pass, 1/2 mi SE Ranger Station, 9800 ft. Adult ♂ on boggy meadow. clovered 14.5°C. at 10:25 A.M. Full sun but stingy S.W. wind and cool. Air temp. 1" above boggy substrate 11.8° C. bulb shaded. Toads, young tree frogs active out on open ground. Other adult ♂ out, about 4-5 collected, other juveniles. One adult in small 2" deep pool, water temp. 19.5°C. at 10:55 A.M. No calling heard. Recently hatched larvae found at margin of average pool 5' x 20'. Some larvae still attached to jelly. Depth of water averages 41". Temp. 21.5° C. at 11:65 A.M. Pond 8" deep in middle, a steady cool 16.0° C. flower. Eggs were laid over brown silt while overlays sandy, gravelly bottom. Wind but slightly among plants of grasses now only 1-2" tall. Adult ♀ on boggy open meadow in full sun. clovered 18.10 C. at 11:15 A.M. Air bulb shaded 13.5° C. 1" above ground. Substrate (bulb not shaded) 17.6°C. Mark Lysett and I tagged 11 adult and subadult toads with Co60 pellets 11:45-2:15 P.M. Area lies between Ranger Station NE to the large deep pond 300 yards NE of station. Adults hard to locate. little calling which ceases when we walk over. Clear skies, cool
