Air temp 1" above dense meadow margin in full sunlight 24.2 C. I set tape recorder and mike at NW edge of meadow and left it there in hopes birds would commence calling again. #22 Kodachrome of meadow facing due W. 1/50th F11 Vaiglander corona #5 Plus-X facing W some m above 1/woth at F13 #6 " " W x SW 1/100 th at F16. Recording started about 1 P.M. Sky clear but for few billowing high clouds, full sunlight. Gusty breezes springing up from SW. Birds trilling nicely. Mike set 45' from lodgepole pine border.
