1.3 mi. N, 0.2 mi. U Civic Center Richmond, Contra Costa Co., Caly. Fall rains began today sometime prior to 7 A.M. and probably 1-2 inches fell during the day. Arrived Richmond site 5:30 P.M.
Dark and damp with very slightly water standing in puddles but more accumulated as pond water in larger depressions. One adult found collected only on east side of raised railroad bed. Crawled slowly walking over brown ground broken by low grassy patches. Crocol temp. 7.5°C at 5:50 P.M.
Air temp. 1" above ground 7.0°C. (bull most?)
Light breeze. Length of area about 45 minutes.
Ground offers to look a real good swimming hole.
Jim Orderson out some evening NE Walnut Creek. He reported no amphibians except a couple D.O.R. B. lovers. Cold out there, too, with air temps 80 C.
Nov. 19
