ELKalden 1955 Buffo [illegible] July 20 in upper Hermit Valley at the same elevation. The canyon of Hermit Valley between the two localities appears rocky and steep for the most part, but there may be suitable food breeding sites somewhere along the Mokelumne River. Area quite dry now, should be flooded in late June [illegible] or earlier. Deer Creek, above which the looness toads were found, is a north tributary of the Mokelumne.
