Buffo [illegible]
May 26 Phone conversation with Carter Denting now living
at 2433 Waring, Berk. 4, Th. 5-0242. A Zool. 113
student spring of 1952. For past couple of summers
he has been working for Montecito Boys and Girls'
Campus, packing geese into Sequoia Natl. Park.
Reports seeing toads (most likely) in lush vegetation
where streams cross path about 200 yards beyond
Bear Paw Mdw. on trail to Hamilton Lakes from
Giant Forest, about 8000 ft. Sequoia Natl. Park.
He suggests contacting Naturalist Floyd Brown at
the museum Giant Forest.
From C.D. Holligie's field notes June 27, 1912.
Confusion exists in my mind over precise locality of
Buffo [illegible] taken east side of Kearnye Pass
Drugs Co., Calif. Catalog lists Kearneye Pass as
locality (would be 11,800 ft.) but field notes show
toads may have been taken at Broys Meadow, 6000
ft. after he had packed out from Flower Lake, one
of string east of Iwent Lake.
