ELKadatum 1955 Bufo boreas May 23 Joe Doll returned from trip to Sogolen Creek with Bob Hoffmann. Joe collected one adult ? 30 feet from Sogolen Creek under a jutting rock on a dry slope. Locality: 3 mi. NW Hobart Mills, 6400 ft., Nevada Co. Calif. Animal died enroute to Albany. Joe reports having seen but 3 (adult) toads during his past two summers at Sogolen. These were large toads, larger than ? delivered today. Hoffmann corroborates Joe's statements as to scarcity of toads in area. Never even seen breeding nor dove toad tods been found. (Dr. Simons) Rana muscosa are common in Sogolen Creek proper and behind Beaver dams.
