El Kadarium 1955 April 13 good skies. 1/4 mile SW of Govt. Center, 4000 ft., Yosemite Valley, Calif (Mariposa Co.) 11 A.M. Set up weather station at edge of pond in large meadow here. It involved a shift of station 200 yards W of site set up last year. Photographs taken 11:30 A.M. 4x5 Voigtlender camera. Plus-X film pack #1 taken facing E toward Half Dome from 20 feet south of the study pond. F20 at 1/100th. Plus X 4x5 #2 facing NE to right of Yosemite Falls. Taken from SW end of the pond F14 at 1/100th. Kodachrome 35 mm. (36 exposure) #1 taken just inside Park entrance on Hwy 140 of a redbud Cercis occidentalis in bloom. #2 taken of Valley weather station while standing in the pond, Half Dome in distance. #3 facing NE from point 2/3rds distance from NE end of the pond. #4 Clark (?) Range from Glacier Point road west of Paraguy Meadow. Set up a detailed description of pond where station set up will be made next time. Depth at yardstick marker now 10 inches, the pond appears to be over 21 inches deep
