Karlstom 1955 Bulfo boreus April 12 road dissecting storemen meadow. The longest pool of continuous water occurs along 40 yards of the ditch. Maximum width of pool is 4 feet, max. depth 4-5 inches to false bottom of matted vegetation. Some small, shallow (<2" deep) isolated puddles are present scattered over rather 50-60 yards of the ditch. Green vegetation and saturated soil at the bottom of the ditch suggest a drying up of once continuous, possibly flowing water. No anuran eyes found, not even Bulfo which should be dry breeding now. Air temp. 1" above matted surface surface of meadow at 4 p.m. 22.1° C. Water temp. 1" below surface in pool 3" deep was 18.9° C.
