march 12 Richmond Locality - mother brotch discovered at pole position 1.8 - those just hatched out.
Water depth here not exceeding 2". Water temp. 16.9° C. at 12:10 P.M. Air temp. 14.8° C. 2" over water.
march 23 Same Locality. Night check here with [illegible] Weisenberg between 8-9:15 P.M. Mild night, clear sky, with no trace of broeze. Water temp. Pond B 12.8° C. at 8:14 P.M. 1" below surface where depth 6". Air temp. 14.9° C. 2" above water surface. Tadpoles at SE corner pond B (reported March 12) recently hatched out and swimming. Restricted to area where eggs had been observed.
The muddy area at NW end of pond B now looks standing water, although soil is still wet. It is dotted with dead and decomposing or dried (in yellow) frogs. One group is just beyond nebulate stage, the other hatched-out larvae. Pond B level noticeably down, probably 2-3 inches, with corn, this, often sublimic beginning to be more germinate. Water is less clear than before.
Tadze at egg site #1, Pond A have surged out but none were found further than about 15 feet from site of egg deposition. Body length 7-8 mm, tail 9 mm. Some recently hatched
