Elkornation 1955 Journal June 25 Pose Ranger Station 10:45 A.M. B. corrus adults, Bora muscoca, Dyla collected. Clear skies, cool, and very windy. We worked until 5:45 P.M. tagging 27 adult and subadult hoods with C690 lead pellets. Tag thermograph serviced. Todzola noted many ponds but no freshly laid eggs at the base study area. Drive to Leawinny 6:30 P.M. then N on 395. Looked sugar Walker Canyon over, checked are postune pond about 3 miles south of Cal-Nevada border. No orrums. Nighthawks (sp.?) 3-4 seen flying over road. Overnight stop at Hallbrook Junction. June 26 Drive south on 395 past Topaz Lake. White pelicans, Calif. gulls on lake. Took good pond wood (finished last gyr, according to Hallbrook Jct. forester) past Heaton Lake to Route 4. Dyla only Heaton Lake, one Thurszaki. Dead adult Bora corrus collected night at Elbert Pass. Clear dry, sunny. Highland Lakes road about 2 miles W of Elbert's Pass (39945.9) Stop about 2 1/2 miles S of jct. Highland Lake Road ad Route 4. This is place Robert Liversey got B_ corrus this spring range northward. Todzola and me yending collected one (948.2). Air temp: 17-190 C., Clear skies, moderate breeze. No adults out or taken sole objects. 2:50 P.M. Next stop (950.1) vast open meadow, buildings, probably a peak station. Seepage streams and flow through down low gradient meadow. Todzola token of smaller size. Probably colder due since more of a bowl effect
