ELKadation 1955 Journal June 5 Brief stop at Beagay meadow. No eggs or tods sugger (N) side of road. max-min. thermeter checked & removed. Little bird life observed but many signs of active rodents. Bullock's wile seen from distance over meadow. Return Valley for sugger. Night check 10:00-11:15 of Churchree mdrw. Clear, mild, still evening. About 7 toods marked, are recognized. June 6 Yosemite Valley. Clear, still, hot day. Worked churchree meadow 10:45 - 12 noon. Tods collected, pictures taken. Air temp. about 85° F. before noon. Left Camp 19 Yosemite Valley 2:30 P.M. (38124) Go stop Cornell Cofe on road to Bass Lake (38170) 11.8 gds. at 4,61. Car loaded up on road climbing up from Auberry. Speedmeter 35209. One Carlnotus multicristus collected. Buntingtn Lake 28238. Warm clear evening. Camped at Deer Creek Camp. Night check 9-10 P.M. but no Bufer. Hyla and scava insassa taken. June 7 Recorded reel #1 Folkwaya Inc. Tape recorder from 5:40-6:20 A.M. Cool, still morning. Temp. 7-10° C. (Case Recording notes). Left Deer Creek Camp 8:45 a.m. for Kaiser Pass. Arrived 9:30 a.m. warm and mostly clear except for high billowy cloud. Collected Kaiser Park mdrws., 8000 ft 9:45-11:30 A.M. Then Kaiser Pass mdrws. Recorded reel no. 2 of cameras Over 2 dozen adult toods collected plus eggs, 1 jew. Rana (+eggs) Hyla. Breeze came up about 1 o'clock.
