G.M. Plimpton 1948 Barn Swallow 2 19 July inside the front porch just over the door. They raised five young. A wire was stretched across the porch on the same level with the nest about a foot away from it. When the young were old enough to fly they would perch on this wire nearest the nest, side by side & just as close to each other as they could squeeze. 29 July Petersburg, Alaska Ames Fir Farm. Have not noticed the swallows. Perhaps they have been gone a day or so ago. 6 Aug Hothorn Bay, Alaska Kobliare's Fox Farm, Harbor Island. Two swallows flew out of the porch when I came in this evening about dusk (2100)
