JM Johnston 1948 Raven Corvidae Corvus corax 12 Apr. Ketchikan, Alaska. Main road 1 mi s. of Town. A very large black bird was seen perched on a bare limb (8" diam) of a conifer, the feathers on the throat were partially separated from one another giving the throat a ragged appearance. The sounds it uttered were a resonous, crrruumuck - The sound centered around one tone for several repe- titions but occasionally one crunch would des- cend through about four full tones. 28 April. Juneau, Alaska - Eastman Chmn. 500 ft. N. of Douglas Bridge. A group of four were seen feeding on the fuchsia beds, west side of chmn.
