Graham Reach and Tolmie
Channel are deep passages,
one continuing without break
into the other. It is about
1/2 mi wide with high mount
ains rising steeply on either
side. The Short billed gull
that we saw yesterday was
seen near Active Pass B.C.
which has very much the
same physical conditions
as this passage. We did
not see short bill gulls
in the wide, not closed
in by mountains passages.
