Bald Eagle
almost directly over the garbage
then swooped down to it at
an angle of about 80°. slideslip-
ping and drawing in its wings
part way. It leveled off before
nearing the water then became
quite close to the water where
the garbage floated. I was not
certain whether it ate any.
It did not attack any of the
gulls. After making one pass
at the garbage it mounted
back up to the altitude pre-
viously occupied but at a slow
rate of climb (perhaps 45°) it
flew back toward Mt. #2
Three or four minutes later two
more bald eagles came from
the area of Mt. 2 and pro-
ceeded toward the garbage.
Then another one about a
minute later, and a 4th
bald eagle came out a minute
or more after that. These
more passes at the gar-
bage like the first bald eagle,
they mounted back up to
3-400 feet. They continued
to soar around, and make
sleuts to the garbage as.
