Bald Eagle Buteoninae Haliaeetus leucocephalus 11 Apr. Finlayson Channel B.C. USS Baranof Near southern part of Roderick Is. On the island west of Roderick island, near the second mountain from the southern tip of the island, four bald eagle were seen. They were easily identified by their large size, black wings and white head and tail. At first only one was seen. It soared and flew out over Finlayson Channel from the valley between the 1st + second mountain. (Look my south thru the channel this is the profiles of the two moun- tains referred to:) 2nd. 1st The eagle was flying at about 300- 400 feet altitude. The ship had thrown garbage over the side and the sea gulls, about 50, in number had swarmed onto the garbage. The eagle flew
