JM Johnston 1948 Douglas Squirrel. Tamiascirtus hudsonicus 23 Aug. behind, but spraddled slight- ly to the side. When he would stop on the vertical side of the trunk his hind legs stay-ed stretched out, but when he stopped on a horizontal limb he would make 6-8 quich little hops 1/4 in at a time, with his hind feet to bring them up underneath him. While sitting on a horizontal limb he would scratch him-self with a hind paw. 25 Aug Holkham Bay, Alaska 0030 T, 2.0 mi from Bar Light. Saw one being chased by another across the floor of the woods.
