M Jolmston 1946 Herring Gulls 29 Aug. from the S.E. The Gulls were seen soaring & flying high over the body (not in flocks but as individuals. (2500 ft) 31 Aug. Same A good stiff wind was blowing in from S.E. rain driving. A small flock of about a dozen were scared off the beach on the lee side of the southern tip by my approach. They flew over to Eagle I. about 200 yds away. None were soaring. 1 Sept. Same The wind had slacked off to a fresh breeze and the gulls were out soaring again
