1916 Holmster 1948 Canadian Geese 2 27 Aug Holkham Bay, Alaska Flats of intertidal zone, south side of Sundrum Pen. I had hid myself in the tall wheat like grass at the edge of the conifer wood and was watching a small group of about 30 geese that were walking slowly around in an area about 300yds out on the grass & duck weed flat. They made very little honking noise. Another group app proached (8) flying from the south part of the bay. They followed the shoreline as they flew northward get- ting closer & closer to where the first groups was. I heard them when they were about 2 miles away - honking as they came. They alighted in the duck weed flat half way between me and the first group. They appear- ed to be a little restless just after alighting, walking about with their heads up.
