Duck Hawk? 1
16 Aug Holkham Bay, Alaska
Kohlhase's Fox Farm, Hubbardland.
A hawk that resembled a small
Cooper's Hawk except for pointed wingtips was seen to fly
from the conifers just east of the house & alight on
the roof of the wood shed.
It flew from here to a post
behind the wood shed, then
up into the top of the coni-
fers to the north of the house.
Later that day a hawk of
this same type was seen
flying over the Bay in the
direction from Duck Creek
to Crow Island.
17 Aug. Holkham Bay, Alaska.
0.5 mi west Crow Island.
I was drifting along in my skiff
when this hawk flew by 100 ft.
away. It turned & flew directly
toward me. 50 feet from me it
changed course, flew off 500 ft.
& made another flight straight
for me at about 20 ft high. Then
flew toward Crow Island.
