Humpback Salmon
14 Aug.; showing her white belly.
Twice another male made
an attempt to enter this
little hollow but the male
that was first there with
the female chased him away
by biting his tail. Then
a third female came up
from below Downstream
and chased
out the original male -
taking over place
The female stayed in
the hollow all the while,
and was not molested by
any of the males.
I frightened them so
that they both left the
hollow. The female ven-
tured to return to the
hollow but when she
saw me standing near
it she turned + swam
quickly up stream.
In pools that measured
100 x 25 x 3 ft there would
be about 100 -> 200 fish.
