W. Grimston Humpback Salmon. 5 14 Aug. and 2,5->3 in horizontally. Her shape is trim & well proportioned. The male is larger measuring about 24" long, 3 -> 3,5 in. wide, but varies greatly through the vertical depth. Most all the males will have a hump some (very few) will be mistaken for a female. On the average male, the hump is half again as deep as the vertical depth. Sometimes the hump is as deep as the whole width of the body of the fish, the hump & body together at the thickest deepest part measures 10 -> 12" ] Both the female & the male were facing the current with the male swimming an inch or so behind the female. At intervals of about three minutes the female would flip over on its side, to the left or right.
