M Johnston 1948 Salmon 23 June Holkham Bay Alaska Harbor Island southern tip. In schools that would measure 15-20 feet in diam there would be thousands of fry salmon 1 3/4" to 2 1/4" long. They would keep as close to slibe as possible. This was the safest place for them since the water is calm as a lake. In deeper water they would fall prey to larger fish and fish eating birds.
