Baleen Whale
5 June (con't) The channel gets more shallow just north of here so the whale has only about 5 miles to go before he'll have to retrace his path. He is probably following a school of Herring up the channel. He will surface about every 300-400 yds, sometimes blows only once, usually he blows twice 10-15 seconds apart; once he blew three sports. He stays submerged anywhere from 6 to 10 minutes
