1 mil N of Pt Arden, Admiralty Is
While lying at anchor cleaning fish, a whale blew
a waterspout 30 feet into
the air about 100 yds off
shore. The sound was terrific
like a 5 in 50 going off. First
came the initial explosion
sound followed by a
woosh. It Submerged
almost as soon as it
had blown. About three
minutes later it blew
again, this time about the
same distance from shore
but about 500 yds farther
north along the shore.
It was probably traveling
northward following the
shore line as it went.
