J M Johnston 1948 Varied Thrush. 7 June Juneau, Alaska 0.5 mi N of Douglas Bridge, W. Juneau Rd. A Varied Thrush has been seen frequently around the back yard. It gathers crumbs & table scraps that have been thrown out from the house into the conifers to the west of the house. It always flies to [illegible] the same place about half way up the 75 ft Spruce trees and disappears as it flies deep into the woods. 27 July. Petersburg, Alaska Ames Fair Farm, Petersburg Creek One killed itself by flying into a window. I seen short [illegible] every day about the ranch. 15 Aug Holkham Bay, Alaska Kohlhase's Box Farm, Harbors. One was to seen fly from the potato patch to the conifers to the north of the yard.
