140 Journal R.E. Johnson 1968 July 3 Amchitka Island, Alaska (cont.) of juvenile birds. There may have been other adults. This may not be a mated pair. Collected 8:30 PM. I haven't skinned the ? yet, nor have I worked on the subsequent 3 birds (one a ?). These were collected from a flock of 10 or more along the cliffs of Rifle Range Point. The group was mainly immatures but included at least 4 adult birds. All 3 were collected before 4 PM. Aleutian Tern colony meet # 2 1 young 3 2 warm eggs (1 cracked, 1 pipped) 4. 1 warm egg Rifle Range Beach Common Teal 70?, 1 ? Bald Eagle 1 adult on promontory of Rifle Range Point until I fired the 1st shot at a roxy finish. Then it moved west & sat [illegible] at a new location - a small sea stack. Glauconis-winged Gull - common along shore in water Rosy Finch (as above) Lapland Longspur - several ?'s & ?'s feeding [illegible] together on smelly rotten sea weed. Checked Rosy Finch nest 52 - no new eggs.
