Journal 47 R.E.Johnson 1968 May 28 Amchitka Island, Alaska (cont.) Finches were seen nearby. As before, there were more Longspurs recorded in the plots near the Bering Sea. Beach Ridge - only 5 birds (Layland Longspur) seen. In the afternoon I checked nests in an area north of Old Camp. This was begun on May 27 and the locations of nests in the area are plotted below.
