The Selkirks have a number of peaks above 7000
ft. Most of these are west of the Pach River but
Roman Nose (7264 ft) is on the east side. It has
several lakes located on its NE side (apparently
steep cliffs above them, suggesting Rosy Finch habitat,
however the peak itself has sparse timber to the top
on the south & west slopes. It is probably
most easily reached by road from the east side.
On the west side of Pach River the high points (from
south to north) include Gunsight Pk (7200ft), Mt. Roothann
(7200 ft.), Chimney Rock, Twin Peaks (7200 ft.). Several other
pks occur at the head of the canyon including Harrison Pk
(7000 ft). Twin Peaks look particularly alpine in character.
Drove back to Samowen Campground that evening.
