March 4 Strawberry Canyon, Alameda Co., Calif.
Sunny, warm, south facing oak-grass slope. Several seen scattered in various oaks, usually 3-6 ft above ground feeding in outer branches in leaf layer in sunlight.
Appear to be feeding on under surface of leaves.
Inspection of leaves indicates numerous 3/16 inch caterpillars are present, sometimes 3 to a leaf.
