On my first day of school in the fall of 2010, I was excited to meet new friends and start learning about different cultures. The school had a variety of clubs and activities that interested me, including art, music, and drama.
I remember walking into the classroom for my first period of English class with excitement mixed with nervousness. My teacher introduced herself as Mrs. Johnson, who seemed friendly enough but still carried an air of authority. She explained that we would be working on various projects throughout the semester, starting with reading a novel together as a group.
As we settled into our seats, I noticed several other students around me who also appeared eager to begin their academic journey at this new institution. One girl sitting next to me turned out to have similar interests in literature and storytelling, which led us to bond over shared passions during breaks between classes.
