April 20, 1978 I returned to the apartment building after a long time and found that my room had been occupied by someone else. The furniture was gone, but there were some personal items left behind. I noticed a note on the table which said: "Dear Mr. Smith, We regret to inform you that your lease has expired as of March 31st. Please vacate the premises immediately. Sincerely, The Management" I felt confused and upset about this sudden change. I had just moved in a few weeks ago, so it seemed unfair for them to kick me out without any warning or explanation. My belongings were scattered everywhere, including clothes, books, and other things I needed for daily life. After trying to organize everything into boxes, I decided to call my landlord to discuss the situation further. He explained that due to financial issues within the company, they had to terminate several leases early. Unfortunately, mine was one of them. With no choice but to leave, I started packing up what little remained of my possessions. It felt like losing more than just a place to live; it was also a loss of comfort and stability during an already challenging period in my life.
