Hoover 1939 July 27 Stoweswhile dp 5150 ft Columbia Co, Wash. 4 miles from camp to a point on the Skyline road near Wildcat springs. This was located approximately 2 miles NE from Twin Buttes. at this location I set out 40 museum special traps, my trap line extended down the canyon or ridge from the road. Traps were set at irregularly intervals depending upon the type of vegetation. Some were set under shrubs and small plants others on the open at the base of large trees. Douglas fir and lodge pole pine were common at this locality. Small shrubs grow abundantly on the side of the ridge. About 50 yds down from the road I encountered the spring and continued setting traps along the small stream flowing from the springs for 200 yds,
